Field Crops Department [FC], College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala offers a comprehensive study of an array of subjects that lead to a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.). These subjects are administered by the interdisciplinary studies and they include: Breeding and plant improvement, Environment and crops physiology, Bean crops and Physiology and crop production. The academia of the department contributes its due share towards the mission of the college by imparting advanced knowledge to the students and through generating a product of agri. graduates that is ready to deal with the agricultural challenges. We are continually upgrading curriculum to meet the local farming industrial and research needs and are putting all our best efforts to deliver agri. graduates capable of solving the emerging Field Crop issues for improving the agricultural production.The Master‘s study was created in the department in2017,in order to grant a master’s degree in field crop science(MSc).
The teaching strength of the department comprises of 19 qualified professionals. Among them 9 members are PhD, the other 4 are awardees of PhD scholarship and presently in the pursuit of attaining higher qualification while completing their Ph.D. Field Crop Department is equipped with several new scientific instruments, lecture rooms and laboratories to meet the pedagogical demands. For the conduction of practical demonstrations and studies in a befitting manner, three laboratories are allocated to the undergraduate students.
