Under the directive of the President of the University of Kerbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, and with direct supervision from the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Karim, the University of Karbala / College of Agriculture at the University Campus – Fariha has commenced the construction and equipping of plastic greenhouses at the college nursery. This initiative comes as part of the university’s plan to develop educational and research infrastructure and to provide an advanced practical environment for students and researchers.
The President of the University, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, emphasized the importance of this project, noting that it aligns with the university leadership’s orientation toward strengthening the practical component for students of scientific colleges and expanding the horizons of scientific research in the agricultural sector. He also highlighted its role in supporting the educational process through modern facilities that contribute to improving the quality of education and serving the local community.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Karim, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of work on the project, explaining that the plastic greenhouses will contribute to the implementation of practical experiments, plant propagation, and the study of methods for improving plant production using modern agricultural techniques, in addition to preparing and practically training students in advanced agricultural technologies.
This initiative is part of a series of developmental projects being implemented by the University of Karbala to enhance its agricultural facilities and meet the needs of students and researchers at the College of Agriculture, in line with its vision to strengthen education and scientific research and achieve sustainable development in Karbala Governorate and the surrounding areas.
