The tasks of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala are considered the main link responsible for following up on conferences, seminars, and scientific activities, as well as seminars that are held in the college. One of his duties is also to follow up on the affairs of students in primary and postgraduate studies and their commitment during the period of study until they graduate.

The Office of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs is affiliated with several divisions, namely the Academic Affairs Division, the Registration Division, the Graduate Studies Division, the Continuing Education Division, and the Quality Assurance Division, in addition to the college library. Each division has a director, who is responsible for the division’s activities and performing its duties in the best possible way. Applicable powers and instructions.

Duties and powers of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs:

Implementing the instructions and controls issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in addition to the instructions in force of the Presidency of the University of Karbala.
2. Follow up on the progress of teaching staff in cooperation with the scientific departments of the college.

Organizing weekly lesson schedules, in coordination with the scientific departments and in light of the classrooms, to ensure the progress of the teaching process in graduate studies.
Organizing final exam schedules in coordination with scientific departments.
Following up on the attendance of graduate and undergraduate students and their discipline in accordance with the applicable regulations and instructions.
Reviewing applications for admission to postgraduate studies after they are received from the scientific department, standardizing them, and submitting them to the university presidency.
Organizing transportation for students to/from the college.
Following up on postgraduate students in terms of time periods and devoting them to study in accordance with regulations and instructions.
Participate in the meetings of the college’s graduate studies committees when invited by them to discuss graduate studies matters, according to the department’s specialization, in a way that ensures good performance.
Preparing the graduate student’s discussion statement one week before the discussion date, preparing the minutes of the discussion committees, evaluating them, and submitting them to the College Council.
Announcing the results of the examinations after their approval by the preliminary studies committees, as well as the graduate studies in scientific departments and according to specialization.
Coordinating with scientific departments regarding submitting exam questions for the first and second sessions.
Addressing official departments regarding everything related to the biography of the undergraduate and graduate student, starting from his registration until his graduation.
Addressing the official departments to obtain their proper approvals regarding the lecturers after their names and departments have been determined by the relevant scientific department.
