The seminar was held for a number of important objectives, including introducing students to the nature of academic study and the university education system, as well as clarifying the importance of the Field Crops Department and its role in graduating qualified cadres to work in the public and private agricultural sectors, in addition to explaining the study plans and academic paths that students will take during their years of study, which enhances communication between new students and faculty members.
The introductory seminar discussed many topics, including

The Head of the Department provided a comprehensive introductory overview of the field crops specialization, pointing out its pivotal role in supporting the agricultural economy and achieving food security. - Study plans:
The seminar reviewed the structure of the curricula for each stage, focusing on linking the theoretical and practical aspects that ensure the scientific and practical qualification of students. - University instructions and laws:
The systems that students must adhere to during their studies were explained, such as the attendance system, exams, and mechanisms for evaluating academic performance. - The importance of extracurricular activities:
The importance of participating in student activities was highlighted, such as research projects, field visits, and training courses organized by the department. - Developing personal skills:
The seminar emphasized the importance of students developing their personal skills such as teamwork, innovation, and leadership, which enhances their future opportunities in the labor market.
The seminar included guiding messages, where the head of the department called on students to work hard and participate actively in all scientific and practical activities to enhance their skills and experiences.
The symposium concluded with an open dialogue session, during which students had the opportunity to ask their questions and discuss their concerns with the department’s professors, which helped build an atmosphere of understanding and positive interaction.
