
As part of the principle of scientific cooperation between universities, the respected Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Kareem from the Department of Plant Protection at the University of Kerbala, participated in the external defense of a PhD thesis at the College of Science, University of Baghdad.
The thesis, presented by student Zahraa Yahya, was titled “Study of Community Composition of Nematodes in Agricultural Soil from Different Areas of Baghdad.”
The study aimed to analyze the composition of nematode communities in agricultural soils from various regions of Baghdad, contributing to a better understanding of the dynamics of these organisms and their impact on the agricultural environment.
The researcher recommended further studies on the ecology and life cycle of nematodes, as well as identifying their geographical distribution in agricultural soils in Iraq.
The thesis was approved with distinction, reflecting the outstanding scientific effort of the student and her significant contribution to advancing research in this field.
