
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Karim, Dean of the College of Agriculture, and the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Nazem Farhoud, Head of the Field Crops Department, the Continuous Education Unit at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, organized a training course titled:
“Nutrient Solutions and Their Preparation Methods.”
The course was conducted by Prof. Dr. Suzan Mohammed Khudair, Asst. Lecturer Nada Mohammed Fadel, and Agricultural Engineer Amal Taher Ouda.
Objectives and Content of the Course
The course aimed to enhance the skills of researchers and students in preparing nutrient solutions and performing related calculations. It covered:
• Theoretical Aspects: Molarity, normality, percentage solutions, and parts-per-million (ppm) solutions.
• Practical Aspects: Measuring chlorophyll content using a spectrophotometer.
Target Audience
The course was designed for researchers, postgraduate, and undergraduate students, introducing them to chemical solution calculations and preparation methods for use in practical experiments.
