
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, President of the University of Karbala, and with the participation of Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Karim, Dean of the College of Agriculture, and Prof. Dr. Kazem Mohammed Al-Fatlawi, Scientific Assistant, alongside the ministerial committee, the University of Kerbala launched a large-scale tree planting campaign across its corridors, colleges, and centers. This initiative coincides with Iraq’s National Tree Planting Day.
Commitment to Green Expansion and Environmental Sustainability
University President Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali emphasized that this campaign aligns with the national program to expand green spaces, combat desertification, and achieve environmental sustainability.
Administrative Assistant Prof. Dr. Jasim Aidan Al-Mamouri reaffirmed the university’s dedication to implementing environmental sustainability standards, especially amid ongoing climate challenges.
Recognition of University Efforts
The ministerial committee praised the effective management of green spaces at the University of Karbala, highlighting their organized design that harmonizes with the university’s buildings and surroundings. The committee acknowledged that these efforts enhance the university’s environment and contribute to students’ mental well-being.
