Scientific cooperation between the College of Agriculture, University of Karbala and the Dutch Wageningen University

Based on the directives of the President of the University of Karbala and the Dean of the Faculty of Continuing Agriculture regarding the need for openness and cooperation with reputable international universities and based on the scientific cooperation project between Karbala University and Wageningen University funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Associate Professor Dr. Karim, the teachers in the plant protection department in our college in the international course on integrated pest management and food safety, which was held under the supervision of the Wageningen Center for Development Innovation of the Dutch University of Wageningen from 5-10-2021 to 6-18-2021 and with the participation of forty students from different countries of the world. Through this course, many concepts and information related to the optimal management of agricultural wastes were reviewed and identified using the best and latest methods that must take into account food safety that is directly related to the public health of the community. The Dutch experience in the agricultural field and how this small country covers the water The sea is one third of its area, but it occupies the second place in the world in terms of agricultural production of all kinds. The course included electronic lectures using modern programs as well as explanatory videos and interviews with Dutch specialist professors in the field of integrated pest management and food safety, as well as with typical Dutch farmers to give an idea of ​​the real and direct work in the field of pest control and following the correct methods to ensure food safety followed in the Netherlands and at the end Our teachers received appreciation and praise and were given certificates of success in completing this course.
