The instructor at the College of Agriculture and the Associate Dean of the College for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ali Balash Jabr, published a scientific research entitled
“Ocimum basilicum Essential Oil Modulates Hematotoxicity, Oxidative Stress, DNA Damage, and Cell Cycle Arrest Induced by β-cyfluthrin in Rat Liver.”

The research dealt with exploring the enhanced effect of basil leaf essential oil against the harmful effects of beta-cyfluthrin in the liver of rats. The study concluded that basil leaf essential oil has a high efficacy as an antioxidant in combating the toxicity of beta-cyfluthrin due to its high content of phenols.
