Karbala University organizes a course on modern methods in water resources management

The University of Karbala, in cooperation with the Dutch Wageningen University, organized a course on modern methods in water resources management and rainwater harvesting, presented by Dr. Karrar Mahdi from Wageningen University.

A number of professors from the College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala participated in the course, including Dr. Adnan Abdul Jalil Lahof, Dr. Kazem Muhammad Abdullah, Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Karim, and Dr. Sinai Muslim Abd.

The course aims to learn about modern methods and recent developments in the agricultural and water sector, especially with the increasing impact of climate change on Iraq.

The course included a field visit to the Fadak palm farm belonging to the Hussein Shrine, in order to gain direct insight into the methods used in water use.

The participants called for the need to apply the modern concepts acquired in the course to the agricultural reality through cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Water Resources.
