The College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala organized a workshop on updating the vision and goals of the Field Crops Department, with the participation of professors from outside the college, activists in the agricultural field, the Dean of the College, Dr. Sabah Ghazi Sharif, the Head of the Field Crops Department, Dr. Abbas Ali Hussein, and the Rapporteur M.M. Uday Hamed Taha and the department’s professors and students. The conference aimed to update the vision and goals of the field crops department in a way that is compatible with agricultural and technological development in the field of field crops. The workshop recommended that the department’s vision achieve innovation and apply the latest sustainable agricultural technologies and practices, in order to achieve outstanding performance and increase productivity and quality in agriculture. The mission is to provide high-quality education and advanced research in the field of agriculture and field crops, with the aim of training and qualifying distinguished agricultural cadres and developing the agricultural sector through innovation and sustainability. While the most prominent goals are to prepare agricultural engineers who can work in the public and private sectors. It gives students the theoretical knowledge and practical skills they need to create leaders capable of using these skills to solve real problems and make good decisions. As well as making sure that everyone in the agricultural sector knows how important it is to protect the environment, and coming up with ways to do so while also looking for legal ways to do so.
