The honorable visit of the Chairman of the Higher Education Committee of the Holy Karbala Governorate Council, Dr. Mohsen Mahdi Al-Kanani, took place on Sunday, the thirty-first of March 2024, to the College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala. The visit aroused great interest from the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Sabah Ghazi. Sharif Al-Agha, the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Balash Jabr, and a good group of heads of scientific departments and faculty members. During the visit, the Chairman of the Higher Education Committee exchanged views with some members of the College Council on the mechanism for improving the status of the College of Agriculture and ways to develop the cognitive skills of College students and supporting the scientific research aspect in line with the requirements of the local market. The visit was marked by an inspection tour of some of the college’s formations and academic facilities, including classrooms, some scientific laboratories, agricultural and animal fields, and a meeting with fourth-year students from the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering and the Department of Plant Protection. At the end of the blessed visit, Dr. Mohsen Al-Kinani praised the academic spirit and cooperative relations prevailing in the college, and the Dean of the College expressed the importance of such inspection visits in strengthening the links between the local government and educational institutions to develop the programs of academic institutions in a way that is compatible with the quality of higher education and scientific research at the University of Karbala.
