The College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala, in collaboration with the Media Department at the Al Abbas’s (P) Holy Shrine, held a training course on information security and data privacy with the participation of faculty members and staff. The training course, held under the slogan “Information Security and Data Privacy,” aimed to educate trainees on how to maintain the confidentiality of data such as images and names on computers or mobile phones, ensuring that the data is secure, accurate, and cannot be modified, destroyed, or manipulated by viruses or malicious software. Additionally, the data should be accessible when needed and intact. The training course also addressed the key challenges we face today in terms of data usage and preservation during work, due to the shift towards electronic automation, internet use, and software in managing public and private sector institutions. Participants were urged to hold seminars on information security and data protection regularly to increase awareness and reduce the chances of deception and theft. The Dean of the College, Dr. Sabah Ghazi Shareef Al-Aga, stated that the university and the college always seek to collaborate with institutions to exchange experiences and knowledge, and enhance scientific and practical outputs in service of our beloved country.
