Visit of the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, Karbala Branch, to the College of Agriculture – University of Kerbala to discuss ways to develop agricultural education

The College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala welcomed on Thursday, October 24, 2024, a delegation from the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, Karbala Branch, headed by the head of the branch, Professor Dr. Munir Abdul-Ali Al-Dami, accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Amir Ali Khalil, on an official visit aimed at reviewing the reality of the college and discussing ways to develop it, improve the reality of agricultural education in Iraq, and address the challenges facing colleges of agriculture at the national level.
The Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Sabah Ghazi Sharif Al-Agha, the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Balash Jabr, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Assistant Professor Dr. Kadum Mohammed Abdullah, were at the forefront of those who received Dr. Al-Dami. The discussions covered various aspects related to the necessity of developing the infrastructure in line with modern trends in the field of agriculture and sustainable development, in addition to opening broad horizons for joint cooperation between the College of Agriculture and relevant departments in Karbala Governorate.
During the visit, Dr. Al-Dumai stressed the importance of supporting the colleges of agriculture as a vital part of the economic and social development in Iraq, expressing the readiness of the Academics Syndicate to provide the necessary support and coordinate efforts between academic institutions and concerned parties to ensure the advancement of this vital sector. The visit was widely welcomed by the Deanship of the College, as the Dean of the College appreciated the efforts of the Syndicate in supporting academics and developing higher education, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation between the concerned parties to achieve common goals in developing agricultural education to advance the agricultural reality in general in our beloved Iraq.
