On Wednesday, 14/11/2024, the College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala hosted the Committee for Evaluating the Scientific and Academic Reality of the Colleges of Agriculture at the level of Iraqi universities. The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sabah Ghazi Sharif, and the Administrative Assistant, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Balash Jabr, and the Scientific Assistant Professor Dr. Kadum Mohammed Abdullah, in addition to the heads of the scientific departments and faculty members, were at the forefront of those welcoming the committee.
The visit began with a field tour of the college corridors, where the committee viewed the classrooms, scientific laboratories, and research facilities, and discussed the level of equipment and its compatibility with the needs of students and researchers. The committee also visited the plastic houses and farms affiliated with the college, and reviewed the agricultural projects implemented by the college within the framework of scientific research and community service.
The committee discussed with the college members a number of important topics, including:
- The level and efficiency of the teaching staff.
- The extent to which quality standards and academic accreditation are achieved.
- Challenges facing the college and ways to overcome them.
- Future projects that the college intends to implement to enhance its role in the agricultural sector.
At the end of the visit, the committee praised the efforts made by the college and its administrative and teaching staff, and stressed the importance of continuing work to achieve academic and scientific excellence and enhance the role of the college in serving the community and developing the agricultural sector.
