As Part of the Vision of the College of Agriculture and the Plant Protection Department to Enhance Student Efficiency

Within the framework of the College of Agriculture’s vision and the Plant Protection Department’s efforts to improve the skills of students, fourth-year students participated in a practical session on pesticide application techniques. This was part of a series of lectures in the practical Chemical Pesticides course.

Students practiced how to spray pesticides and calculate the required amounts. These sessions aim to prepare agricultural engineers with sufficient expertise to handle these critical chemical materials, which can harm human and animal health and the environment if misused.

The training also emphasized raising students’ awareness of the proper use of pesticides, adhering to occupational safety guidelines, and following the instructions provided on pesticide labels. It included understanding how to determine the safety interval—the period during which the pesticide dissipates and becomes safe for humans and the environment.
