The College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala Participates in the Fifth International Scientific Conference on Agricultural Sciences at the University of Basra

Faculty members from the Plant Protection Department, including Assistant Lecturer Noor Ali Abdul Ghazali, Assistant Lecturer Brier Nasser Kamaz, and Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Brier Abu Dakka, participated in the Fifth International Scientific Conference on Agricultural Sciences under the theme: “The Role of Sustainability in Developing the Agricultural Sector.”

Their research, titled “First Record of Fusarium solani as a Causative Agent of Acacia (Acacia mangium) Root Rot and Damping-Off Seedling in Karbala Province, Iraq,” aimed to identify and diagnose fungal diseases affecting acacia roots in Karbala, both morphologically and molecularly.

The study’s findings documented the first record of Fusarium solani on the roots of acacia plants in Karbala Province. Additionally, the research employed biological and chemical control measures in laboratory conditions against the pathogen.
