As part of the ongoing collaboration between the University of Kerbala and the Dutch side under the TMT+ Iraq project, entrepreneurship and life skills have been integrated into climate-smart agricultural curricula. This initiative, in cooperation with the Dutch organization ICRA, represents a crucial step in this partnership. The approach involves incorporating case studies into the coursework for postgraduate and PhD students.
This method provides students with practical experience in addressing real-world agricultural challenges. By analyzing actual scenarios and proposing actionable solutions, the students enhance their critical thinking abilities and apply theoretical knowledge in practical contexts.
Faculty members from the College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala have played a pivotal role in this transformation. Professors including Dr. Adnan Abdul Jalil Lahouf, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Kareem, and Assistant Professor Dr. Sinaa Muslim Abdul have contributed significantly through hands-on training sessions and interactive discussions.
These skills are essential for preparing future agricultural professionals to succeed in a rapidly changing world. This initiative underscores the importance of capacity building in the agricultural sector by integrating innovative teaching methods aligned with global best practices.
