In a move aimed at advancing scientific research and supporting the aquaculture sector, the College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala has announced the launch of a project to establish intensive fish farming ponds in the Department of Animal Production. The project is under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein, and the Head of the Department of Animal Production, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhannad Fadhel Hussein.
The project aims to enhance fish farming methods and boost productivity by providing an ideal environment for scientific research. It also seeks to support national efforts to achieve self-sufficiency in fish production and develop the aquaculture sector to meet local market needs.
The college emphasized that this project represents a significant step toward advancing applied scientific research in the field of animal production. It opens new horizons for students and researchers to contribute to improving food security in Iraq.
