University of Kerbala Enhances Agricultural Production Through Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory

The Tissue Culture Laboratory at the College of Agriculture, University of Karbala, is one of the key laboratories dedicated to enhancing scientific research and developing modern agricultural technologies. It is a specialized laboratory for plant tissue culture and one of the advanced scientific facilities affiliated with the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering.

The laboratory aims to provide an advanced research and educational environment for students and researchers, offering opportunities to acquire specialized skills in agricultural biotechnology. Through this lab, students can study methods of in vitro plant propagation, moving beyond traditional methods, which contributes to producing high-quality, disease-free plants.

The Dean of the College of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Kareem, emphasized that this laboratory aligns with the university’s directives to improve agricultural production and provide sustainable solutions to the challenges facing traditional farming. It also represents a significant step toward developing agricultural biotechnologies and opening new horizons for scientific research and professional development in this field.
