University of Kerbala Hosts a Scientific Guidance Seminar on “Anxiety: Causes, Treatment, and Coping Strategies”

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Kareem, and in collaboration with the Family Guidance Center affiliated with the Holy Hussainiya Shrine, a scientific guidance seminar was held under the title “Anxiety: Causes, Treatment, and Coping Strategies.”

The seminar addressed the definition of anxiety and discussed generalized anxiety disorder. It highlighted that anxiety can manifest in both psychological and physical symptoms, which vary from person to person. These symptoms include headaches, nervousness, tension, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, irritability, confusion, muscle tension, insomnia, excessive sweating, shortness of breath, and abdominal pain. The discussion emphasized that excessive and irrational anxiety can interfere with daily life, necessitating appropriate treatment.

Additionally, the seminar covered available treatments for anxiety, including psychological therapy, medication, physical exercise, exposure to natural light, and the use of therapeutic supplements.

This seminar is part of a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing mental and physical health awareness among students and faculty at the University of Kerbala.
