University of Kerbala Conducts a Practical Experiment on Growth Regulators

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Kareem, and under the supervision of the Head of the Field Crops Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Nazem Farhoud, a practical experiment was conducted for fourth-year students as part of the Growth Regulators Laboratory course.

The experiment was carried out by Ms. Hawraa Ali, who soaked the seeds of three sunflower varieties in different concentrations of growth regulators before planting them in Petri dishes.

The objective of the experiment was to study the effect of seed soaking on accelerating germination and improving seedling characteristics, which in turn positively influences overall plant growth.

During the practical session, the instructor explained the importance of using growth regulators to enhance seed efficiency and increase crop productivity. The experiment aimed to strengthen students’ practical skills and prepare them to address agricultural challenges in the future.
