
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Kareem, and the direct supervision of the Head of the Plant Protection Department, Dr. Yasser Nasser Hussein, students from the Plant Protection Department organized a large-scale tree-planting campaign in celebration of National Afforestation Day.
This initiative aligns with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which emphasize the importance of environmental awareness and active participation in environmental conservation. As part of the campaign, students planted a variety of trees and plants in the department’s gardens, contributing to improving environmental quality and enhancing the campus’s natural beauty.
The Dean of the College of Agriculture highlighted the significance of such student-led initiatives in fostering social responsibility, commending their efforts in making the campaign a success and demonstrating their commitment to the environment and community. In addition, Dr. Yasser Nasser Hussein praised the students’ active role in executing the campaign, emphasizing that this effort enhances the aesthetics of the university campus and creates a healthier and more conducive learning environment.
