
The College of Agriculture at Kerbala University concluded a specialized training course on “Foot-and-Mouth Disease Diagnosis Mechanisms.” The event was attended by MP Ibtisam Al-Hilali, a member of the Agricultural Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, and Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Karim, Dean of the College of Agriculture, along with a group of academics and specialists in the veterinary field.
The course, organized by the Animal Production Department, included scientific lectures on the characteristics of the viral disease and its clinical symptoms, with a focus on the latest laboratory diagnostic methods and global protocols for prevention. The lecturers emphasized the importance of regular vaccination and the implementation of biosecurity measures on farms to control outbreaks.
For her part, MP Al-Hilali praised the university’s academic efforts in developing agricultural cadres, while the Dean of the College announced plans to organize a series of similar workshops to enhance national preparedness in combating epidemic diseases.
