The Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, organized a training course entitled “Global Warming and Its Impact on Plant Growth.” The course was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Harith Mahmood Aziz, Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Sahib, and Assistant Lecturer Shahla Adel Khait.

The course addressed the concept of global warming and its causes, the impact of climate change on plant growth and production, as well as scientific solutions that can help mitigate its negative effects on the agricultural sector.
The lecturers emphasized the importance of adopting modern agricultural practices, such as climate-smart agriculture and the efficient use of natural resources, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 13 (Climate Action) and Goal 2 (Zero Hunger).
At the conclusion of the course, participants stressed the need to intensify scientific and research efforts in this field and to promote environmental awareness among students and the community in order to face the challenges of climate change and achieve sustainable food security.
