As part of the College’s plans to qualify students and graduates for the labor market and promote a culture of agricultural innovation, the workshop was organized in collaboration with the Aghsan Foundation and took place in the College’s seminar hall.
The workshop was opened by Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein, Dean of the College of Agriculture, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of such activities in supporting the University’s orientation toward sustainable agriculture and the green economy, as they play a vital role in creating new and innovative job opportunities for the College’s graduates.
The workshop covered several key topics, including:
- The concept of agricultural entrepreneurship and its impact on the development of the agricultural sector.
- The green skills required in the modern agricultural labor market.
- Presentations of successful youth experiences in sustainable agricultural projects.
- Ways developmental institutions can support entrepreneurial initiatives in the agricultural sector.
The team from the Aghsan Foundation for Agricultural and Environmental Development also delivered a series of practical lectures addressing mechanisms for establishing small projects, entrepreneurial thinking, and methods of sustainably utilizing local resources in an environmentally friendly manner.
At the conclusion of the workshop, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Aghsan Foundation and the organizers of the event, praising the constructive cooperation between the College and institutions supporting the agricultural sector.
He affirmed that such workshops fall within the vision of the College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala to prepare qualified cadres with entrepreneurial skills and green knowledge that contribute to advancing national agriculture and achieving sustainable food security.
