Vision and goals – Food Science Department

Vision: Achieving leadership and excellence in food science in its various directions to provide sustainable food.

Objectives :

  1. Preparing qualified agricultural engineers to lead modern food factories.
  2. Supervising advanced cadres of postgraduate students and conducting research and scientific studies related to food.
  3. Interacting with various ministries and departments to serve the community and provide them with expertise and achieve quality work in food.
  4. Transferring the achieved food quality experiences to developed countries and applying them locally.
  5. Coordination with other scientific disciplines and their applications in food science.
  6. Preparing educational seminars and workshops for graduates to keep pace with modern developments to qualify them for the labor market.

Detailed objectives

  1. In light of the major changes in food and dairy manufacturing methods or the development of quality control and detection devices for various compounds, the details of these updates are introduced into the curricula for primary studies students and are updated annually.
  2. With the occurrence of scientific breakthroughs in various sciences, especially food science, rare and modern specializations are being developed for graduate students, such as biofilms, genetically modified foods, and concentrations of pesticide residues in foods.
  3. Conducting seminars and forums and providing advice to various sectors in addition to graduate students to update information and introduce modern technologies in food science.
