The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, presided over the conference for the launch of the electronic higher education identity, in the presence of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee, senior ministry officials, presidents of public and private universities, the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, and a large gathering of students.
In his speech, the Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has made a strategic decision to move towards a comprehensive digital transformation of the university environment. This includes the implementation of 120 electronic systems that cover student services, resource management, education, and inquiries, culminating in the introduction of the smart digital university ID. He pointed out that the launch of the electronic identity marks a milestone in the path toward digital transformation and smart governance in educational institutions.
The Minister personally oversaw the distribution of the electronic higher education ID cards to a number of university students, stressing that this achievement in digital transformation within the academic environment in Iraq aligns with efforts to promote the internationalization of education, global partnerships, and enhance the country’s reputation in international forums, rankings, and academic databases.
The conference featured speeches and presentations on the digital transformation environment within the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with live demonstrations illustrating the mechanisms for using the digital university ID.
