The College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala is considered one of the important scientific colleges established to meet the needs of society in the fields of food security and sustainable agricultural development.
Founded in 2005, the college aims to prepare specialized scientific cadres in agricultural and animal sciences capable of serving the agricultural sector in Iraq through education, scientific research, and community development.
The college includes several academic departments, such as:
• Department of Animal Production
• Department of Field Crops
• Department of Plant Protection
• Department of Food Science
• Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering
The college also strives to:
• Enhance the efficiency of agricultural and animal production.
• Support applied research to address agricultural challenges in the province and Iraq in general.
• Contribute to community service through consultations, training, and agricultural extension.
• Introduce postgraduate programs in various departments to accommodate graduates and develop their research and scientific capabilities.
• Ensure the appointment of top graduates through the Federal Service Council, in support of excellence and academic distinction.
• Coordinate with governmental institutions, holy shrines, and private agricultural companies in Karbala to employ agricultural engineers in various agricultural sectors.
