A book entitled “The Biochemical and Physiological Foundations of Plant Growth and Propagation” has been published by the faculty members of the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala:
• Prof. Dr. Hameed Abdul Kheshan Al-Fartousi
• Prof. Dr. Suzan Mohammed Al-Rubaie
• Assist. Prof. Dr. Zaid Khalil Kazem
• Assist. Lecturer Noor Abdul-Munem Ahmed
• Assist. Lecturer Amal Taher Ouda Al-Yasari
The book, which consists of 150 pages, is organized into four chapters:
• Chapter One: Plant Tissue Culture
• Chapter Two: Plant Growth Regulators
• Chapter Three: Growth and Hormone Estimation
• Chapter Four: Enzymes
The book aims to highlight that it is possible to obtain thousands of propagated, disease-free plants from a single plant. Tissue culture has become a fundamental tool in plant research, demonstrating the ability of plant cells to grow, differentiate, and regenerate into a new plant. The book also provides insights into understanding the mechanisms of growth regulator translocation within plants.
