The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, organized a scientific workshop on Wednesday, 11/2/2026, entitled “Economic Empowerment of Women through Small Enterprises,” with the attendance of a number of female faculty members, staff, and students.

The workshop aimed to enhance women’s economic independence by supporting them in establishing and managing sustainable small enterprises, and by providing participants with essential knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship and financial planning. This would enable them to invest their abilities and talents and transform them into real income-generating opportunities.

The workshop also addressed available funding mechanisms for small enterprises, ways to access markets, and methods of developing entrepreneurial ideas and transforming them into viable projects, thereby strengthening the role of women in economic and community development.

This workshop is part of a series of awareness and training activities implemented by the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College, in line with the university’s orientation toward supporting women’s empowerment issues and enhancing their active participation in various fields.
