A study in the College of Agriculture, University of Karbala, discussing the control of seed rot and seedling death of okra plants

A master’s thesis at the College of Agriculture at Karbala University examined a preventive method against the fungus that causes seed rot and seedling death of okra. The thesis entitled (Evaluation of some genetic structures, chemical pesticides and biological resistance fungi and the interaction between them in the resistance of seed rot disease and the death of okra seedlings) by the student (Ahmed Majid Mahmoud) included five chapters, which are the introduction, review of sources, materials and methods of work, results and discussion, Conclusions and recommendations. The thesis aims to test the effectiveness of the chemical pesticide M Topsin and different types of Trichoderma spp. in resisting the pathogenic fungus F. culmorum. And finding the best effective integrative formula between the chemical pesticide M Topsin and types of the fungus Trichoderma spp. In resistance to the pathogenic fungus F. culmorum. Hence, the manufacture of a biocide with different types of Trichoderma spp. To combat the pathogenic fungus F. culmorum. The results showed the effectiveness of the preventive methods used because of their antagonistic ability between them and the pathogenic fungus. The thesis recommended conducting more studies on the pathogenic fungus and its effect on some other plant families and knowing the toxins it produces and its impact on human and animal health. .
