The College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala organized a scientific seminar on (unconventional and promising crops in the production of sugar substitutes in the future, the stevia plant as a model) for the doctoral graduate student Montaser Khader Sahi, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Abbas Ali Hussein, and in the presence of the Head of the Field Crops Department, along with a good group of faculty members. In some scientific departments and in the presence of graduate students, the scientific seminar included a group of topics, the most important of which are:

  1. An overview of the stevia plant and its benefits, as well as medicinal uses of the stevia plant. While the episode aimed to shed light on the appropriate conditions for the growth of the stevia plant and the problems facing the cultivation and propagation of the stevia plant in Iraq. The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sabah Ghazi Sharif Al-Agha, said that the university and the college always strive to improve their scientific outputs.
