Scientific Symposium at the Karbala Agriculture Directorate Under the Patronage of the Governor of Karbala

Under the patronage of the Governor of Karbala, Mr. Nassif Jassim Al-Khattabi, Dr. Shaimaa Abdul Kazem, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Agriculture, University of Karbala, along with Assistant Lecturer Hind Faeq Mahdi, participated in a scientific symposium held at the Karbala Agriculture Directorate. The symposium was attended by a group of engineers and veterinarians and focused on key issues related to agricultural engineering and veterinary medicine, with a particular emphasis on the role of women in these fields.

The event included a speech by Ms. Ikhlas Al-Badiri, Head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Governor’s Office, who emphasized the governor’s support for agricultural engineering and veterinary medicine in general and for female engineers and veterinarians in particular. Additionally, Ms. Amira Al-Hafiz, Head of the Women’s Committee at the Agriculture Directorate, spoke about the active role of female engineers and veterinarians in their respective fields, stressing the importance of increasing their participation in the development of the agricultural sector.

Assistant Lecturer Hind Faeq Al-Shammari delivered a lecture titled “The Role of Female Agricultural Engineers in Sustainable Development,” where she discussed the concept of sustainable development and the importance of women’s participation in advancing agriculture and implementing sustainable practices. She also addressed the major challenges facing the agricultural sector in Karbala and proposed solutions and strategies to improve agricultural infrastructure and enhance policies supporting sustainable agriculture, highlighting the significance of education and training programs for female agricultural engineers.

At the conclusion of the symposium, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants in recognition of their efforts, with best wishes for their continued success in serving the community and advancing the agricultural sector.
