College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala Receives Distinguished Research Recognition

The President of the University of Kerbala, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, honored researcher Rusul Fadhil Nouri Al-Awadi from the College of Agriculture, along with her supervisor, Assist. Prof. Dr. Kadum Mohammed Abdullah Al Fatlawi, in recognition of their outstanding research efforts on sweet marjoram and the potential of developing it into a research project that includes medical resources serving the Holy Province of Karbala.

This plant is distinguished by its high therapeutic and economic value due to its richness in essential oils used in pharmaceutical and aromatic industries. The environment of Karbala is well-suited for its cultivation, opening promising prospects for investment in the medicinal plants sector.

For his part, the University President emphasized that this achievement represents a practical model for employing scientific research in the service of society and for strengthening the position of the College of Agriculture and the University of Kerbala as a leading scientific institution.
