Prof. Dr. Yasser Nasser Hussein, from the Department of Plant Protection, College of Agriculture / University of Kerbala, participated in the defense of a Master’s thesis entitled:
“Study of the Efficiency of Certain Biocontrol Agents in Combating the Causal Agent of White Mold Disease Sclerotinia sclerotiorum on Cucumber”, submitted by the student Ahmed Sabah Hassan.
The study aimed to identify the fungal pathogens causing white mold disease, particularly Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, affecting eggplant and cucumber crops grown under plastic houses in some areas of Baghdad. The results demonstrated the superiority of certain bacterial isolates and biocontrol fungi with high antagonistic ability against the pathogenic fungus under laboratory conditions.
The researcher recommended conducting further studies and research on this topic.
The thesis was awarded an Excellent grade, reflecting the distinguished scientific effort and significant contribution to the academic field.
