The College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala witnessed the defense of the first Ph.D. dissertation titled “Effect of Seaweed, Nitrogen, and Iron on the Growth, Yield, and Medically Active Compounds of Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.)”, presented by the student Zahraa Mohsen Mohammed Younis from the Department of Field Crops.
The study aimed to determine the effect of seaweed and combinations of nitrogen and iron on the growth, yield, and medically active compounds of the fenugreek plant.
The results showed that using combinations of nitrogen and iron along with seaweed foliar spray contributed to improved growth, increased yield, and enhanced medically active compounds. The study recommended adopting these treatments to improve both the productivity and quality of fenugreek plants.
