The Department of Field Crops at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, organized a training course titled “Approaches to Addressing the Risks of Climate Change in the Agricultural Sector,” as part of the college’s efforts to promote biosafety culture and enhance the skills of academic and technical staff in dealing with agricultural and laboratory environments.
The course included an explanation of the concept of climate change and its types, in addition to presenting the most prominent methods for addressing it, with a focus on the challenges faced by the agricultural sector as a result of these changes.
It also featured a practical demonstration of response mechanisms to climate change in the agricultural field, as well as modern methods used to reduce its negative effects on plant and animal production.
The course witnessed positive engagement from participants, who emphasized the importance of the topic in supporting safe practices within laboratories and academic departments, and the need to disseminate these concepts in ways that enhance the applied and research aspects within the college.
At the conclusion of the event, attendees expressed their appreciation for the organizational efforts and for the lecturers, urging the continuation of specialized courses and workshops that keep pace with scientific developments and contribute to improving the educational and research environment within the university.
