University of Kerbala, within the Participation and Institutional Reform Pillar, Organizes a Scientific Workshop on Combating Violence Against Women

Within the framework of the Participation and Institutional Reform Pillar, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Agriculture – University of Kerbala organized an in-person workshop entitled “The Role of Women and Society in Combating Violence Against Women” on Wednesday, 28/1/2026, with the participation of a number of faculty members and staff of the college.

The workshop aimed to enhance family awareness of its pivotal role in combating violence against women, promote a culture of dialogue and understanding within the family, and emphasize positive parenting methods that contribute to preventing domestic violence and building family relationships based on respect, affection, and cooperation.

The workshop also highlighted the importance of the shared role of women and society in confronting manifestations of violence and in strengthening human and social values that ensure the protection of women and the preservation of their dignity, in line with the legal and social frameworks that support their rights.

This workshop comes as part of the University of Kerbala’s efforts, particularly those of the College of Agriculture, to support women’s issues, enhance community partnership, and promote the concepts of justice and equality, thereby contributing to the achievement of a safe and stable family and societal environment.
