Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Karim, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Biosafety and Biosecurity Unit, organized a training course entitled “Fundamentals of Chemical Safety”, with the participation of a number of the college staff and students.

The course was delivered by Assistant Professor Ibrahim Lafta Kazem, Lecturer Zainab Abdul-Ameer Hussein, and Chemist Sumaia Jaafar Abbas. The course covered several topics, including the principles of chemical safety and their importance in educational and research laboratories, an explanation of different types of chemical hazards and methods of prevention, as well as safe handling of hazardous materials and the proper methods for their storage and transportation according to approved regulations, in addition to emergency procedures and personal protective equipment.

The course aimed to enhance preventive awareness and promote a culture of occupational and environmental safety, contributing to the provision of a safe educational and research environment within the college.
