In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Karbala supports widows with food baskets.

Under the patronage of the Honorable President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Basem Khalil Nayel Al-Saidi, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala organized a volunteer event that reflects the spirit of solidarity and social solidarity among all members of society, in cooperation with the Ships of Survival Foundation for Orphan Care.
The event was held at the headquarters of the Survival Ships Foundation, which included distributing a number of food baskets to widowed women. This charitable work comes as a clear message from the University of Karbala to stress the need to stand by the groups most in need, especially the category of widows who face the challenges of living as a vulnerable group that They are often socially marginalized.
The College of Agriculture, with all its members, through the Women’s Affairs Unit, has sought to raise the status of women in society, extend a helping hand, and create a feeling of security and stability for these women. It also works to enhance social awareness of the role and importance of women.
For its part, the “Survival Ships” Foundation welcomed this initiative, which was sponsored by the Women’s Affairs Unit: Responsible for the unit M. M. Shaima Abd Kazeb, with the distinguished professors at the College of Agriculture – University of Karbala, because it is a good step that embodies noble human values and gives an example of the effective role of universities in standing through such collective initiatives in improving the living conditions of some people and overcoming life’s difficulties as much as possible.
