The Field Crops Department at the College of Agriculture Concludes a Training Seminar on Common Errors in Experimental Design, Data Analysis, and Data Manipulation

The Field Crops Department at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, successfully concluded an in-person specialized training seminar titled “Common Errors in Experimental Design, Data Analysis, and Data Manipulation,” which focused on the major challenges faced by researchers in designing, conducting, and analyzing scientific experiments.

The seminar, held in the Al-Sunbula Hall at the college, aimed to raise participants’ awareness of the importance of selecting the appropriate statistical design before initiating research projects, while also promoting concepts of scientific integrity and honesty in handling research data.

The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Nadhim Farhoud and Dr. Uday Hamid Taha, both faculty members of the Field Crops Department. Through various topics, they discussed the significance of proper statistical design, highlighted common mistakes researchers may encounter during the planning and execution of experiments, and addressed the ethical and scientific aspects related to data manipulation, including ways to mitigate it and its negative impacts on research outcomes and scientific credibility.

The seminar witnessed notable attendance and active participation from a number of the college’s faculty members, staff, and postgraduate students, in addition to a group of research enthusiasts. Participants praised the rich scientific content and the clear and distinguished presentation style of the lecturers.

This seminar is part of a series of scientific activities organized by the Field Crops Department as part of its continuous efforts to develop researchers’ skills and enhance their competencies in scientific research, particularly in the accurate and effective use of statistical tools and designs.
