The College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala welcomed the ministerial committee assigned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Directorate of Research and Development for the purpose of conducting a site visit and completing the requirements for establishing a PhD program in the field of Horticulture and Landscape Plant.
The committee was received by Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein, the esteemed Dean of the College of Agriculture, along with Dr. Harith, Head of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Plant. They were accompanied by the Scientific Assistant Dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kazem Abdullah, along with a number of faculty members and department staff.
During their visit, the committee reviewed the scientific, human, and material resources available in the department, including advanced research laboratories, lecture halls, a scientific library, and a specialized academic staff.
The ministerial committee commended the preparations and efforts made by the college and the department, appreciating the fulfillment of requirements in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The committee affirmed the importance of establishing the PhD program in Horticulture and Landscape Plant, noting its potential to support scientific research, serve the community, and advance the agricultural sector.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the members of the ministerial committee for their visit and scientific feedback, emphasizing the college’s ongoing commitment to developing its academic programs and launching postgraduate studies that contribute to enhancing the scientific and research standards at the University of Kerbala.
