University of Kerbala Organizes Workshop on the Preparation of Artificial Culture Media

As part of its scientific and practical programs, and under the direction of the respected Dean of the College of Agriculture, Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Kareem, and with the direct supervision of the Head of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Plant, Dr. Harith Mahmoud Aziz, the Department of Horticulture at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, organized a workshop entitled “Training on the Preparation of Artificial Culture Media for Plant Tissue Propagation” in the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory. The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Sarab Abdul-Hadi Mohammed.

The workshop aimed to train students and researchers in the fundamentals and techniques of plant tissue culture. It included both theoretical and practical lectures on how to prepare and sterilize artificial culture media and highlighted the importance of precise components such as mineral elements and plant hormones. The workshop also covered the application of this technique in producing disease-free plants and achieving rapid propagation of high-quality cultivars.

The Dean emphasized that such workshops contribute to empowering students to utilize modern technologies in support of the agricultural sector, thereby promoting food security and sustainable development.
