Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, President of the University of Kerbala, and the follow-up of Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Kareem, Dean of the College of Agriculture, the College organized the third edition of the Date Varieties Exhibition, held on the grounds of the College of Agriculture. The exhibition was launched under the slogan: “Our Dates… Our Identity… Our Wealth,” with the hall prepared to showcase a wide variety of local date types.
The event was held with the participation of the Karbala Directorate of Agriculture, the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate, the Holy Shrines of Imam Hussein and Al-Abbas, as well as farmers and agricultural specialists from the provinces of Anbar, Diwaniyah, and Muthanna.
During the exhibition, attendees toured the different pavilions, viewed various date varieties and their by-products, and exchanged expertise with representatives of the participating entities. It was emphasized that the sustainability of such exhibitions strengthens the university’s role as a cultural and agricultural hub in the province.
