The College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala organized a training course entitled “Biosafety in University Laboratories,” held from October 7 to 9, 2025. The course aimed to enhance safety and prevention measures within laboratories and to improve the efficiency of faculty members and students in handling laboratory materials and equipment according to safe scientific principles.
The course included lectures delivered by:
• Professor Dr. Zainab Hadi Abbas
• Lecturer Dr. Ahmed Abdul Ameer Hussein
• Assistant Lecturer Dua’a Adel Rabea
The lectures covered several topics related to biosafety standards, mechanisms for preventing biological and chemical hazards, and reviewed the latest methods in laboratory management in line with internationally approved standards and regulations.
The college administration emphasized that organizing this course is part of its training plans aimed at developing the academic and research work environment in accordance with quality assurance and accreditation requirements, while promoting a culture of safety and responsibility among faculty members and students alike.
