College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala Organizes a Training Course Entitled “Genetically Modified Foods and Their Impact on Human Health”

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Kerbala, Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Kareem, the college organized a training course entitled “Genetically Modified Foods and Their Impact on Human Health.” This activity was part of the college’s scientific initiatives aimed at raising health and nutritional awareness among faculty members and students.

The course lectures were delivered by:
• Professor Dr. Manal Abdul Wahid Salbukh
• Lecturer Dr. Saleh Abdul Wahid Mahdi
• Assistant Lecturer Aqeel Haider Attallah

The course addressed several scientific topics, most notably: an introduction to the biotechnological techniques used in the production of genetically modified foods, mechanisms for assessing their safety, as well as a discussion of the health and environmental aspects associated with the consumption of such foods and their potential effects on human health, based on the latest scientific studies.

The college administration affirmed that organizing this course comes as part of a series of scientific activities aimed at fostering a culture of scientific research and developing the capacities of faculty members and students in dealing with contemporary issues in the fields of agriculture and nutrition, in line with global scientific advancements in this domain.
