The Department of Plant Protection at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, held a discussion session on Monday, October 13, 2025, to review the research proposals of Ph.D. students. This session was part of a series of specialized scientific meetings aimed at completing the academic stages preceding the field and laboratory research.
The discussions were attended by the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdul Hussein Kareem; the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kazem Mohammed Abdullah; the Head of the Department of Plant Protection, Prof. Dr. Yasser Nasser Hussein; as well as the department’s faculty members and supervisors.
During the sessions, the research proposals and executive summaries were evaluated, covering various topics in the field of plant protection, particularly in pest control and the development of innovative methods to reduce pest damage.
These discussions aim to ensure the quality of research plans and the clarity of their scientific methodology before conducting experiments, thereby enhancing the scientific rigor of the studies. Approving the research plan represents an essential academic milestone and a prerequisite for commencing the doctoral dissertation, as it reflects the student’s ability to formulate an innovative research problem and design a precise methodology that leads to results contributing to the development of the agricultural sector and the achievement of food security.
