Under the direction of the respected Dean of the College of Agriculture and the supervision of the respected Head of the Field Crops Department, and within the college’s approach of adopting fieldwork and practical application as the foundation of laboratory courses, fourth-year students in the Department of Field Crops carried out a practical activity as part of the requirements for the Crop Management (Practical) course.

The activity included a detailed explanation of soil types and methods for selecting suitable soil for cultivating various crops, along with an overview of the types of agricultural machinery used in tillage operations and their role in preparing an appropriate seedbed. The session also addressed the importance of fertilization before and after planting and its effect on improving crop growth and productivity.
The field lecture was supervised by Lecturer Dr. Nazim Abdul-Razzaq Al-Maamouri and Assistant Lecturer Ali Aziz Hatim. It aimed to reinforce the applied concepts of the course, develop students’ skills in field management, and promote teamwork and collaboration among them.
