On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the Department of Food Science at the College of Agriculture, University of Kerbala, organized a scientific field trip to the Martyrs Foundation in Karbala Governorate. The trip was supervised by Dr. Mahdi Najim Rakhit, the department’s rapporteur, and Lecturer Basim Abdoun Fadhel, the instructor of the course on the Crimes of the Defunct Baath Regime.
The trip aimed to enhance the scientific and cognitive aspects of the students, introduce them to the crimes of the former regime as part of the course curriculum, reinforce national awareness values, and familiarize them with the efforts of the Martyrs Foundation in documenting violations and preserving the memory of the martyrs.
This field trip comes within the framework of the annual plan for scientific field activities adopted by the College of Agriculture, which seeks to integrate theoretical and practical aspects of the educational process, contributing to the development of students’ skills and broadening their knowledge horizons.
